Shred The Debt is a community 5K hosted by Covenant Church to help eliminate qualifying medical debt for families across Bucks County. Every $40 registration helps eliminate roughly $3,500 of medical debt.
👉 Are You Ready to make an impact?
Thanks to Undue Medical Debt’s participation in purchasing debt as a non-profit, for every $1 raised, we can pay off $100 of medical debt. To eliminate all qualifying medical debt in Bucks County we would need to raise $25,000 to settle all of it at that lower price point, so we’re inviting our community to help! This event invites runners, walkers, families, and community members to come together and donate for a cause almost everyone can agree on: lifting the burden of medical debt from our neighbors. Shred The Debt is about dignity, compassion, and tangible relief. If we raise more than that we will apply it to even more debt that has been inccured or explore surrounding counties to help.

No. With your help, we abolish medical debt permanently. Recipients have no adverse tax consequences, obligations or strings attached.
Medical debt relief is a gift from a detached and disinterested third party (Undue) as an act of generosity, so relief of the debt does not count as income to the debtor. We will not file a Form 1099-C with the IRS.
Unfortunately we're unable to target specific individuals when purchasing debts from portfolios and buy them in bulk based on the criteria mentioned above.
Due to HIPAA laws, Undue Medical Debt cannot disclose the names, contact information or any other specific details of the debt relief beneficiaries.
Yes, your donation is tax deductible. Undue Medical Debt is a 501(c)(3) charity and your donation is 100% tax deductible when made through their giving portal and wil be handling direct financial donations to the campaign. Click Here to Donate.
No, your race registration is not tax deductible.
That's a common interjection. However, Undue Medical Debt is working as a non-profit collections agency and therefore has access to purchasing debt portfolios not available to the public. This allows them to purchase debts in bulk at a discount, but instead of collecting on them, they abolish the debt with no strings attached. We have thouroughly vetted and done our due diligence before partnering with Undue Medical Debt.
